I have two very great neighbors and they have seen the pics of some of the fish I catch and have been wanting to go fishing with me for awhile! I told them its not the greatest time to go for a Big Blue but they wanted to try anyway. The weatherman said we were doomed with a 100% chance of rain but you know how they lie. We fished from 7am till about 3pm and we had to work for the cats but did manage 10 blues ranging from 7 to 15 lbs. 9 were caught on skipjack and one on a night crawler! Caught them in water depths from 22ft to 58 ft.Water temp was 71. We did manage 5 or 6 bream and 7 crappie off a bluff in about 30 ft of water on a current break. What a beautiful day it turned out to be! Seems like all the big cats are down below the dam from the reports Ive been seeing. I did talk to a commercial fisherman yesterday who was running a GILL NET....at the nuke plant and noticed he was only getting the same size cats as what we were catching yesterday. He said he couldnt put his nets out in the middle right now because the current is too strong so he had it over by the ledge at the RED BOUY. He did have a few cats and some Drum in the but no bass....I repeat noooo bass at the RED BOUY ledge in the gill net ( for what thats worth). Here is a couple pics of Gene and Pete with their PB cats!! Both said they have never caught Cats this size LOL!! emoLaugh IM glad they had a good time
