JSV, Chickamauga, CRACKERFEST, 5-23-09, MIKE, Dad, Ashley and Austin

<br /> Had a great time on the water Saturday. My daughter is 6 but does not have a long attention span for fishing however enjoys it for a short time and really likes riding in the boat. We arranged to pick Ashley and a little friend (Austin) up at 10:30 for an after-noon of Cracker fishing. <br /> In the mean time Mike, my Dad and I decided to run up river and see if we could find any Crackers for Ashley and Austin. We searched and searched for 2 hours and didn’t find anything significant. We might have put 3 or 4 Bream in the well. We accepted it was going to be tough but felt we could at least keep Ashley and Austin occupied with some Bream.<br /> Since the Cracker bite hadn’t been productive we decided to try and put my Dad on a few Bass for an hour or so. Throwing CB and plastics we each caught several decent fish and topped off with a 22+ inch LM which only went 5lb.’s but sure was fun.<br /> Our play time was over so put our rods up and picked up the kiddos.<br /> Called TNDOE to see if she was on fish up at our normal Cracker hole. She said no but was watching another CFF’er catch them one after another in one of the holes. <br /> We decided to hit a place in the park Doghouse had caught some last year. Very few fish and no keepers. I then get a call and head up to where Tndoe and crew were and we started catching a few fish next to them (did I mention we were next to them, over them, in front of them). Crackerfest doesn’t have a 50 ft rule (that is as long as your friends or practically family). The kids done well and reeled in many fish yet took several snack breaks too. We put a few fish in the box but never thought we would be close to placing. I figured TNDOE and COMPANY would have been way in front of us but some how we ended up second! After the Crackerfest we gather to clean the fish and socialize. Little did I know they set me up with a surprise B-Day Party at my sister’s house. They got me pretty good but they really got me when Mike presented me a Custom Rod he built for me and a Pflueger reel from Kathy!emoDance !!<br /> THANKS!!!
