swamp, tenn river george, bass-bream, 5/28
#1
Ipulled in TVA Racoon Mt. ramp about 8:30 am. there was only one pickup with a boat trailer in the lot when I got there. As I drove past the pickup I noticed the passanger side window was broken out and glass laying under the door in the parking lot.T.V.A. police had made a report and put in on the poor guys windshield.I asked them what happened and they said someone broke it out and stole or there were looking for some
thing to steal. they said it was fairly common around there.I hate theives.
I put in and rigged up my fly rod started fishing with popping bugs for bluegill. They were not very intrested ,they would slap at the bug,but not really try to eat it.Made several moves and it was like that eveywhere i fished.I pulled up on a river channel bank and caught several small bream and as I was playing with them bass were trying to eat them. That happened three times in about thirty minutes. So I put on a bass bug and they would`nt hit it .Gave up on fly rod rigged up ultralight ,fished small jigs deep, still no big bream.Caught a few redbreast.
Went back to where bass were chasing my bream ,and caught several, all about the same as the on in the pic,All on a 1/16 oz.jig head with a small chart. grub. River looked good, plenty of current, good color.Don`t know where the big bream are.
