I started my day around 9:50 with a couple throws of the cast net and had all the bait I needed. My first fishing spot was about 50 feet below the fishing pier below the dam, as they were only flowing maybe 25000 and my bait could stay in the zone for at least a little while. I caught the first smallmouth on my first cast so I just assumed I would have a 50 fish day easy and show off to the the various first class chaps below the dam, but I only caught one more right there so I got some more bait and took my frst shot of the year at my spot below the railroad bridge and I did just ok, caught one channel, 2 smallmouth, one spot and 1 largemouth on threadfin and one on a 7.5 inch plum yum worm carolina rigged. I was talking to David I think is his name from the forum and without any siren they kicked on a turbine or two and the water rose with the first surge about a foot in 10 seconds, and I had waded out about 15 feet in the water and all of my electronics (phone and keys) got submerged on the bank even though they were about 7 feet away from the edge of the water. I was really mad for a little while that there was no warning but then I realized I should have been more carful, they've got dangerous waters and water will rise without warning signs all over. Anyway I dried everything out all afternoon and phone nad keys work, thank goodness.
