Saturday evening James and I decided to start on deep humps before the sun went down. I picked up a keeper pretty quick on a deep spinner bait, but then it slowed down. There was a point within site I wanted to hit right at dark and I had to wait for 2 boats sitting on it, so I headed down river to start night fishing. We started in 5-10ft with spinner baits and I picked up another keeper and a bunch of shorts. We then moved to an area Rob and I caught them friday night, They had moved off that flat and were hanging tight to some brush in about 12 ft. Where I was able to boat another keeper. We finally settled in to where James was covering ground with the blade while I drug jigs and plastics through the brush in deeper water, both baits produced a bunch of fish but finally James put a solid 3lber in the boat on the blade. We also caught probably half a dozen short smallies which was fun. About 3am they cut the generators off and the Chick turned into a big stagnet puddle. We still managed a few more fish but things had slowed down. As soon as the sun started cracking we made it back to another deep ledge where the fish were scattered. it took a minute for the fish to gang up but I finally put a fish that culled in the box. Minutes later I got my arm knocked off and a short fight ended with a good fish throwing the bait. It would have helped ,but James came through on the last cast and boated our best fish close to 4lbs. on a c-rig. we ended with 14.31# good for 22nd place out of 60. I screwed up an opportunity to have a nice bag, but we had a lot of fun and I loved fishing from 8-8! The lake was full Friday and had dropped almost a foot by Sunday Morning and I think the dropping level moved the fish out a bit deeper than they were Friday night. We relyed on Spinner baits, plastics, and jigs at night and plastics and Spinnerbaits in the daylight. Sorry for the long post-it was a long night!
