Well, I haven't posted anything in about 3 weeks, because my computer was down for over a week, then I spent several days in Nashville for my 50th high school class reunion (Father Ryan HS) and visiting relatives, etc.

Today I fished for crappie from about 8am until the storm ran me off about noon. I caught about 30-35 and kept 12 between 11 and 13 in. Water temp was about 76 with very little current. Blue, pearl, smoke/glitter BG shads and crappie stingers were the baits I used with tails dipped in that magic chartreuse garlic juice. I also caught 3 smallies, 4 spots, 1 warmouth and 1 bluegill. Only one of the spots was a pretty decent fish (about 1.5 lbs.) All fish were caught along steep rocky shorelines, mostly around a 20 count, but a few as deep as a 30 count (I must be counting fast). The storm hit just as I was pulling away from the boat ramp to drive home (good timing).

I fished a couple of times week before last. One was a Chick. crappie trip where I kept 8 betw. 11 and 14 in. Baits and pattern were as described above. My family and in-laws have put a pretty good dent in the crappie stock in my freezer. I am making a commitment to Drumking and Hal that from now on I won't keep any TARP crappie so we might grow some really big ones as they suggest. I'm not making any promises though if I caught one over 3 lbs.!

The other trip was below Chick. Dam where I tried to catch some bull bream, but I only got 6 on mealworms and a lot of small ones at the gates. Many still had eggs in them. I also bass fished a little along the rip-rap with tube baits and caught a few spots with one of them going 17 in. I only kept the 6 bull bream.
