Looked for the topwater bite this morning and it was there to a small degree. Had 4 bass in the first 15 minutes from 6:30 to 6:45. Three on a rattling chug bug throwing to surfacers. The other was on a crankbait. Moved off to a deep point that usually has summertime fish on it and caught 6 more. 5 on plastic worms and 1 on a jigging spoon. Great morning to be out there. Quit at 8am and scouted and marked a small point that had fish all over it but had committed to come home so will have to leave that for another day. The water temp on the main lake this morning was 81 degrees and the water in WT was 83. The schoolers that were on top were over about 15-18 feet near a drop that tops out at 5-8 feet on top. The deeper fish were off the end of a point that is about 16 on top dropping to 25 feet. I hope to get out soon and try out the newly found spot. I don't think that I've ever seen anyone else fish the spot and it's in open water, so not easy to find.
