What a great day to go bass fishing! I tested out a new/old way to help keep my shad alive; I froze a gallon jug of water and put it in my cooler, It certainly cooled the water down a bit but I think iI put too many shad in to start and they ended up dying at the same rate, I had rejuvenade in there too. As long as I could get my bait out around and past this guy who was just tying up valuable shoreline catfishing and catching absolutely nothing i could kill the bass. I caught one on every cast I could get into the right area, and after he left I had time for about 6 casts with a c rigged worm and caught 5 more. Great day! Also I saw the first schooling event this year that I can say was actually a school of bass; up until now it's just been random bursts on top of the water. It was a picture perfect setup, i could see a line of bass working a school of shad right in front of me moving left to right, there was probably 30 blow ups in the space of 10 seconds, very exciting.

Side note: All the shad I caught today were perfectly sized threadfin and also 5-6 inch gizzard shad, not too easy to come by I had to make about 15-18 throws to get what ended up being too many shad.
