ya everyone, I fish mostly at Clinton lake IL , Salt Creek that feeds the lake, and Weldon Springs.

I split up my fishing between Crappie,Catfish, White Bass, and Striper, with most of my time spent on Catfish.Throw in some time for some Snapping Turtles too.

I wont say am a great fisherman, but if you spend enough time on the water , your bound to catch something nice once in awhile[Smile]

Just being out wetting a line is enough for me.

Some of my bigger catches, 10#striper, a 32# and a 46# Flathead and a 21# snapping turtle

I spend a little time helping a friend run a bait shop , WHEN AM NOT FISHING[fishin]

cool! i was born in that area. when i go back from time to time i fish the I&M canal, the Hennipen Canal, and my fav is the little vermillion river. back in the day where it joined up with the IL river, there was some great stripper fishing there. its also the reason i am a Cibs fan and a Bears fan........ who, well, everyone in the world knows for a FACT, are the two greatest professional teams in all of this earth!

I think turtle, snappers and soft shells taste like turtle, if it tasted like chicken I would eat a chicken. There are different flavors, but Ive never noticed the 5 or 6 different ones that some people state, sometimes you can get pieces that taste like fish.

There is white meat and dark , and the dark comes in different shades of red I de-bone mine and toss it all together.

The vermillion river was one of the first waters I fished in when I was still using a stick and bobber, and I think I used nylon string as line. I had a uncle with a cabin and the river was just a few steps away, I can still remember some of those catches from 40 years ago.
