Nauticman, Chickamauga, Black Crappie, 9/4/09, NAUTIC WOMAN (Wife Dana)
#1
I wanted my wife to get into some crappie action on a beautiful day, so we went late this am. The solunar tables said that 1-3pm would be the peak activity period and that's just about the way it turned out. We fished bluff structure with BG shads and panfish assassins on 1/16 oz. leadheads. The best colors for us today were blue, smoke/glitter and electric chicken. The count was anywhere from 15 to 25. We caught about 25 or so crappie and a couple of bluegills. About 2/3 of the crappie were legal size. The two largest were 13.5 and 13 in. There was some slow current and no wind. We released all the fish.
