Catalina Trip 7/2
#1

Hi there guys,

I went out again on the Pierpoint 3/4 day boat. Today was not a repeat of yesterday. Bait was better today and it was a little cooler. Plenty of Calacos were caught but the Barries were not as active as yesterday.

The skipper, Danny, decided to try for WSB and around the corner we went and fished the backside near Eagle rock. Lots of nice kelp. We were able to pick up a little bit of live squid from a lightboat that was parked just outside the kelp.

The bass were not biting anchovies that well so we swithed to frozen squid. Almost everyone used the white banana shaped lead heads to pin both frozen and lve squid. Ideally, guys like my fishing the boat or plastics would cast as far out as possible, then let the jig head, squid combo drift downway using it was hit.

We caught a few White Sea Bass but lost most of them.
