abu vs penn any comments welcome

hey,
i was wondering which reel would be better for a surf outfit for striper and blues of the beach in RI. right now i will mostly concentrate on the reel . currently i have an abu C3 5500 from a few years ago but still made in Sweden unlike the new ones but i was considering getting a Penn 525. which is abetted all around reel for chunking pieces of bait AND throwing plugs??????
any comments on which to use would be welcome any any comments discussing the reels or comparing them would be more than welcome along with any reasonably priced rod to with them, but i am on a budget but will try to hit some sales over the winter and late fall

If you want something that's smooth and very castable, go with the Abu.

If you want something that's powerful and heavily built, but still castable, go with the Penn.

Personally, i'd go with a penn, just because. I have both, and both have thier place. For what you're talking about, I like penn. And, i'd probably use a spinning reel, not a BC reel.
