Norman (Labman) and I thought that it must be a holiday with all the anglers that were out today. We couldn't even get on any of our spots. Don't tell me that everyone else is retired too.

Actually that was a bit exaggerated, but it did seem that there were more than usual boaters out for a Thursday. We saw everyone but EricM. Looked for him too. Our crappie count was 56 including a nice 14.25 inch TARP for Norman. Beautiful fish. I caught my namesake, brown looking smallmouth (drum) in the 4-5 pound range. A catfish, a couple of bass and 4 or 5 bluegills rounded out our morning. Beautiful autumn day. Bright sunshine, very little wind, good current and hungry fish. All fish released today.

We caught our all our fish on bg shads and slab slayers in various colors. I didn't try a panfish assassin today. Probably should have. I would have taken more pics, but my batteries gave out and I wasn't carrying any spares. I was riding with Norman today and all my spare batteries are in my boat. Hal and I are going striper fishing in the morning. Yoo Hoo! If that fails, we will crappie fish. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
