I was up there on July 2, but all I could catch were the pesky perch. Between my dad and I we caught over 20 of them. Didn't get any smallmouth, but got 3 walleye. I'll need to go back up and chase smallies again. I was disappointed to not catch any.

Sounds like a great fish! Were you fishing the North arm? How many smallies did you end up landing. Good luck next time you head out.

He only caught 4 fish the whole time, I must have caught 20 or so fish and they were 1.5lbs and bigger. We caught all of our fish in the arm.

By the arm do you mean the North arm or the Provo river arm? Sounds like you guys really had a good time. Were you working the shores? Tomegun says he snuggles right up to the bank, and then casts to deeper water. I've been aching to get up there and catch some good bass. I've only ever landed the smaller bass. I'm on a quest for a 20 incher.

I fished there on Friday and caught one smallmouth and one perch. Fished the Provo River arm in the wakefree area. Saw a guy land a nice 3 lb. largemouth. A group of ladies trolling had a nice stringer of trout. The boat and watercraft traffic was heavy. The next time I go up there, I will make it during the middle of the week rather than the weekend.

Ive always fished those bays on the west end of the lake. I do real well throwing a yellow and white skirted medium sized spinnerbait. Usually catch around a dozen smallies or more till I soarlip em'. I can only cover so much ground since i'm fishing from shore.

I was fishing the north end,I have done well for big perch and some really nice smallies up there where the road comes in,You do have to look around in the area to find the fish,We found the fish, but not in the numbers that are usally there,But I didn't spend much time looking for a bigger school,Just didn't have time to look around like I usally do.If you get in the area and stay west of the road bed, just putt around till you mark good numbers of fish, anchor up wind, drift over them and us a standard perch rig,1/8 oz jig head and worm, catch a perch and cut bait it,us a big peice of perch meat, usally 1/2 inch wide,3 inchs long, the little ones will bite but they cant get it in there mouth so you only really hook the big ones, and my biggest bass have been using this method,it's simple and the kids have a blast.

Thats a good idea fishnfool, with the bigger piece of bait, I usally use small pieces and end up with 2 and 3" fish all day. Thanx for that info.
