I put on all of my winter fishing clothes and hit it for Skull Island ramp this morning. Hoo-eee, it was cold! The river was totally fogged in, very, very low visibility, but it was clear enough to see more glass in the parking lot where someone has been broken into again recently. I shot a pic of the boat on the ramp to show just how foggy it was. The pic of one of my fish did NOT have the background blotted out - the fog did that too! What a sloooooooow ride down the river, nothing to see except the compass and GPS. Anyone actually getting on plane in those conditions should be shot, but I didn't find anyone who did anything but pretty much idle until the fog lifted.

It turned into a beautiful day, although the cats were less than cooperative until I finally found them suspended at 25 to 40 feet in 55 feet of water. Nothing huge, but a couple went 9 pounds and I caught 14 total before the mid-afternoon slump hit. Once again, the elusive skipjack was the bait of choice.

All in all, a pretty nice day on the water! emoBig
