Hook1, Chick, Bass, 10/20, 2jigs
#1
We met at the dam at 3 and fished till 7:30. The surface action wasn't as good as we thought it would be. There was some water moving and not that much wind with it. emoScratch We started out finding fish in our first spot on a deep point. 2jigs cought about 3 on a crig and I had a decent fish throw my spoon out right at the boat as I was going to lip it emoAngry. Moved to the back of a slough and had lots of bait and busting bass emoParty. The problem was the bait was small and the fish were picky. Steve caught a fish on the crig again and I hooked a white bass on a spoon and got another nice largemouth on a Wildeye swimbait. We decided to move and ended up back at our first spot since there wasn't that much daylight left. I miss fishing till 9:30 emoBawl. Steve was still hooking fish on the crig and I caught one more on the spoon and actually got to release it and ended up loosing my last jigging spoon emoDoh. The fish were in the high teens to mid 20s and water temps were from 70 to 67 depending on location. I ended the evening throwing a sexy shad DD22 and missed a bite and threw back and hooked another fish. I didn't keep count but the numbers weren't as high as my last few trips but the quality of fish was better. Right before we decided to call it a night I heard something in the woods like a deer and saw a coon walking down to the water emoIdea. I (jokingly) said I was going to hook it and threw my crankbait towards him and it bounced off of the rocks. The cast was pretty good for throwing into the wind but I had a small backlash. I was standing there getting the loops out of my line when I noticed the coon stepping into the water and grabbing my crankbait emoEek! I reeled up quick but he had it! I tugged but he wouldn't or couldn't let go so I pulled harder and the plug flew away from him. One of the most hilarious things that have happened to me in the boat. The coon looked soooo suprised as he walked back up to the woods. Anyway I enjoyed another good trip with 2jigs. We didn't have a camera but there wasn't anything really worth braddin about anyhow. Just a good relaxing trip to the water. emoThumbsup
