I called Tritonal186 this afternoon and asked him if he wanted to wet a line below the Nick and he accepted. Al is a new comer to Tennessee and is from south Florida. We put in at the ramp below Nick dam and it didn't look too good since the water was almost in the parking lot but we launched anyway. We went over by the dam and looked the situation over and the water was rough, real rough. The turbines seemed to be wide open and about half the spillway gates were cracked open and the water was rolling way to fast to do any fishing so we headed down river to hunt some calmer water which wasn't to be found. I showed him a few fishing spots to try another time and gave him the 2 cent tour from the dam to South Pittsburg. Nothing was caught but we had an excellent conversation on fishing in general. We saw one lonely cat fisherman and on the way back there were two more boats braving the waves in front of the boat ramp, there were three people at the boat ramp on the bank who said they were catching stripes or white bass, we got home in time for dark. Hopefully we can do it again when the high water permits.
