What area do you hunt. That is a nice buck. My daughter had her last junior tag this year. I put in for a doe tag, her an I were both successful. We both harvested on opening day we spent the rest of the week fishing! I love to see the pictures. Ok now back to fishing .

We hunted area 141-145 Eureka area. This was my daughter's 4th deer. The first year we went after a buck every since She harvests the first shot she can take. I had a doe tag in 144 both were average size. My youngest just completed her hunter safety course and will be applying for 2010 same area. Yes it is awesome to watch the kids learn and then apply and then reap the benefits. We have always spent several trips sighting in prior to season. She shot about 40-60 rds through her 270 from June till October before we ever left town, so when her shot came she would only take one shot and put it down. She skins her own deer too, can't get her to get inside though. Our hunting trips are always special.

How do Nevada deer taste compared to other deer in say more green areas ? I think it would be cool to get a deer some day.

this was my first nevada deer. i have shot all the rest in montana. i actually havent tried a steak from him yet. but hes in nice white packages in my freezer so on my next days off iam going grill some. mule deer bucks in november get kinda warn down from the rut though so sometimes they are not that great but i cleaned him up good and fast so it should be ok. elk taste alot better

start applying for a tag now, especially if you want to hunt close to town. i actually got super lucky drawing this tag my first try applying. last year there was 46 tags and like 400 applied and people had bonus points so it could take a year or two.
