recent narows reports?
#1
i read the thread about ice fishing, but im heading up saturday morning with a buddy that im going to teach some basic flyfishing at the camp ground to. the weeds clear out any more yet? flows stayiong consistant yet (havent checked usgs site sorry)?

all im looking to do is put him into a few planters on a fly rod and nothing else. maybe before or after, well drift a night crawler through the current on the spinning rods.

im also thinking about asking the land owners below the bridge by the hot springs for access again to see if i could get into a brown, and maybe go as far as getting into a bigger carp on the fly. any input is much appreciated!

Fished that stretch about 2 weekends ago. Caught quite a few Brownies and Bows on Mepps. Just little ones around 4pm. They were jumpin too you should do great on a fly!GL

Fishing was decent in the afternoons before the deep freeze hit 2 weeks ago. Right along the banks- 18# BWO or Adams. Otherwise earlier than that I had to either nymph or throw streamers- both produced - but it was before the bottom fell out on the thermometer. I know a San Juan or a black bugger will pick up fish but that doesn't teach someone much about casting.

im just showing him the roll cast and thats it as far as the teaching go's. otherwise it would be neat to put him into a planter just to get a feel for the rod vs. a spinning rod.. thanks for the input!
