Decided to see if I could put some of JDK's tactics to use up here below Ft. Loudon Dam. Finally had a productive small mouth day, caught 8 with 4 keepers. 3 spots, best spot was 17 in a new PB for me. Also had 4 keeper LM with best 5 somewhere in the 16 lb range. I haven't caught a good smallmouth in a very long time and must admit to it being quite addictive, basically been all I have thought about at work today. Anyhow, all fish were caught on a Luck Craft Fat CB in the ROOTBEER BROWN color. Fish were holding very tight to rocky banks in the swift water. Never had to pick up a jig but my assumption is they probably would have taken that also. Water temps were 49 and it was moving quickly. attached is one of the keeper smallies. Hard to take pics when your by yourself and it feels like you're fishing the Colorado.
