Mackay Reservoir report 12-28-09
#1
[Smile] My son and son-in-law just got back from Mackay Res. today. My son called me at work to report the good fishing news. They had caught their limit of kokanee at Mackay and one rainbow they threw back. My son said they had their best luck using a pink ratfinke tipped with a wax worm. Lot of fish going across the fishfinder in schools. Kokanee were from 8 to 10" long and in average condition. Caught many near bottom but some up higher in the water column. Only a few ice shacks this early in the season off from the main landing. They were fishing aways up from the ice shacks and towards the dam.

Thanks for the report. Sounds about the same as our report on Sat. Those ratfinkies seemed to be the ticket.

Great report! Pink Rat Finkes below a Swedish Pimple are a go to set up for me for Kokes as well!

Fished Mackay yesterday also. We caught two nice rainbows and a bunch of kokanee, I picked them up anywhere between 15' and the bottom. I caught most on a small swedish pimple.
