Thanks to all of Nick Smacks reports we had to go try our luck on the "G". Put in at Mink Creek at daylight. Water temp around 46, went to a hump with grass on it and proceeded to chunk traps until about Noon. Ended up putting 10 solid keepers in the boat, no monsters but they were still fun. I saw water temps up to 52 in some shallow water before we left because of a minor boat issue. The wind was pretty strong and we never saw that bright orange ball in the sky. It won't be long before you will have to take a number to get a spot on the lake. The duck hunters were doing there best to help the economy by burning powder, saw several try some really high long shots unsuccessfully. Saw 1 group of hunters whiff on 2 geese that were cupped and committed, they shot way to soon.
