After the experiences I had last weekend and MLK day on sauger below the dam, I decided it was time to get back to business and hit the Big "G" today for a chance at a decent LM. Got a late start this morning as I put in just before 9 am. Threw a trap all day in shallow grass. The main river topped out in the high 40's but I did manage to find water at 53 F in the creeks. Had 10 for the day with one over 6 lbs and one over 4. Best 5 would have been somewhere near the 17 lb. mark. Only had 5 that would measure though. The other 5 were short fish. Although, I did find some fish in the grass the bigger fish seemed to be off wood. There was a lot of loose grass and grass mats which made it harder to fish. Seemed like mid February out there! Very enjoyable day! The wind was tough and kept the air temperature down though. See pics below.

emoAngler Tight lines!
<
