Anglers of all ages are welcome to visit Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site on Sylvan Lake Feb. 6 for the inaugural Ice Fishing Derby and Family Fishing Fair from 6 to 11 a.m.
Participants are invited to take part in the competitive ice fishing event, as well as several other family-friendly activities. Ice anglers of all skill levels are welcome to compete. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories, and participants can have fish identified by DNR Fish & Wildlife experts.<br />
There is a $3 per person entry fee to participate in the ice fishing derby. Anglers, age 17 and older, are required to have a valid Indiana fishing license. Register by calling (260) 854-3790 or e-mail genestrattonportershs@dnr.IN.gov.
