Colby (revopro) was nice enough to let me borrow the boat today since Shane and I have been wanting to fish Parksville.

Shane and I hit the water around 10:30 this morning, first thing we noticed was that the water was MUDDY. That really took some of our confidience away from using the Float n Fly. Wind was also howling in powerful gusts. We knew it would be tough, but got to the fishing.
Started off heading towards the lower end of Parksville hoping to find clear enough water for the FnF. Started off in Indian creek... the water was about 3 FT clear when we got there, so I started throwing the FnF and fished down until we got around the bend of the creek. From there the water was muddy, only 1FT clearity. I put the FnF up and tied a jerkbait on my other spinning rod. About my 20th cast in, I hook a nice 17inch spot.
Fished a little longer in Indian then headed out to fish a small slough where we found the clearest water there is on the lake today.
Started fishing the FnF, no luck until I got back towards the end of the slough. Casted right in the middle, nothing... started reeling up and Fish ON! It ends up being another nice little 17" spot.
Headed up the lake and fished another creek after a while. We were fixing to give up due to "retarded wind"...
We knew the water would be muddy there as well, but got our jerkbaits ready. Fished down a small bluff for about 10 minutes... finally hooked into the last fish of the day that measured 17.5". As I got him into the boat the depth finder started marking a ton of fish right were I had caught him. Casted over that spot for about 5 more minutes with no more luck.
Fished another 30 minutes without another bite.
Shane is still yet to catch his first bass of 2010, hopefully we'll get out there again soon and he'll catch something.
Thats all for todays report... the water should be clearing back up this week since we dont have any rain on the forcast until Friday. Water is also almost Summer pool, TVA has all the spill gates open and that water will be back down to winter pool tonite or tomorrow.
