Boiled till red then dipped in butter is my favorite. I have also had them with marinara sauce and past like spaghetti and Polokid makes an alfredo that is killer with them. You could also serve them scampi style and if you get large enough ones you could kabob them and grill em up... MMMM... BTW where are you going to get these critters?

Oh theyre cooked alright. I was just trying to come up with something a little more creative than just lemon and butter. I put the tail meat in the freezer. I saved all the rest of them in the freezer too so I can make a seafood stock with it.[Wink] I think we need to get some more though. I dont think we have enough.[sly]

There are crawdads in the nelle. There numbers are not up like strawberry or some of the other mature lakes around, but they are there.

I still have not been able to beat using the pre made crab boil packets you can buy at your local supermarket, then shelling the tails out and making crawdad fetticini!!!! I am now hungry!!!

I think that crawdads inevitably end up in every lake eventually, whether by travelling up in the river from Deer Creek before the dam was made or illegal stocking or whatever. Give them time and Jordanelle will be chuck full of them too.

Hey one eye,

Just curious how you know this. Have you seen some in there? And i think your right about them inevitably being there regardless of how they do get there.

I have caught them in there. They like the worms I use for trout fishing and I have had them grab onto a grub while bass fishing before.

I know Doug Miller has done complete shows about crawdad catching and cooking at Strawberry. Just one key piece of informtion that Doug Miller provided - when the crawdads are first caught if you put them in ice water the will expell their bial duct and thus making them much easier to eat. In fact I'll bet Doug can give you some receipes for the mudbug...

Good Eating and don't forget the large pinchers - they're good also....

I'll test my pic uploading - it still has never worked....

I myself like my dads scampi style, sauteed in butter and garrlic. My second favorite is jumbolya (sp). There are many good cajuin packets available at your local market for these. I suggest you try one of them 1st and see if you care for the taste. If so then try one from scratch, they are time comsuming to make but worth the effort.
