Well, I haven't seen a river report in a long time and haven't wet a hook in 3 weeks, so I decided to fish out of Riverpark for a few hours in the p.m. When I got there about 1, TVA had 3 gates open. By mid-afternoon they had closed them all reducing the flow from 56K to 44K cfs. Water temp was 43 and color was great. I started out below the lock and worked my way down to the golf course throwing tube baits at natural and rip-rap shorelines.

I caught a 15.5 in. white bass and then I hooked a big brown fish with a small mouth, but, no, it wasn't what I wanted. Yeah, it was a drum of 9 lbs. I caught 3 more drum up to 11 lbs. If a guy wanted to just have some fun and catch some heavy fish on light tackle, the drum will sure cooperate now. No Bass! All fish released.

The flow has settled down now to normal levels which should help the fishing up in the lake.
