Since the weather was being sooo cooperative and the water flow was as close to normal as I have seen in quite some time, I loaded up the bay boat and hit the river. My friend and fellow CFFer M17Glock and his son stopped by to wish me well on my surgery tomorrow, and I wished him the same on his hernia surgery also happening tomorrow.

Since I will be off of the water for a while again, I decided to spend a fair amount of time recording with the Humminbird 1197 so that I can sit at home healing up during the week and go over the recordings and set waypoints, etc. Looks like lots of interesting bass, crappie, and white bass structure out there to try. Some nice cat places too, but I'm going to take my time and look 'em over carefully.

I just had to throw a skipjack overboard for a while to try my luck. The cattin' was really slow - a pontoon with 3 guys picked up 10-12 2 to 4 lb blues on liver, and I managed only 7 fish with a 12 and a 30 lb for big fish. I didn't mark a single big fish on the bottom that I saw, and just a few fair fish suspended. With the increase in temp and with the flow looking like it might become "normal" again, I expect the catfishing to improve shortly.

Here's today's best pic:
