Been out 1-2 days per week on Carters and a day or two on Chickamauga lately as well. Here's my Carters Lake Report.

The lake level is 1076.8 which is around 6 feet high. Water temps range from 43-46 depending on where you are. I've been fishing mid-upper lake areas, visibility is good in the lake, a little cloudy up river in places. Fishing has been slow as usual for this time of year, most of my fish have been roaming between 20-35ft either suspended or just off the bottom always around bait. Nothing much has changed w/ baits over the past month, drop shots, spoons, grubs, and a rare but occasional fish on the fish head spin. Seems like early AM is the best time to get a big spot right now, at least the % is higher early.

Today I was out with Dave and John Ernst from Illinois. We had a cold slow day on Carters today. Numbers weren't great but they did get to battle some mean spotted bass out of deep water with 6lb line. Early this morning Dave was asking me if there was really a big difference in the fight between a largemouth and a spot. Now he understands LOL. Here are a few pics from today. The 2 big spots were both 5lbr's other fish were 2lb quality spots.

The big fish bit today, my friend and CFF Forum Member Fishnvol was there with his father and caught 2 giants as well!!!

Good Luck on the water to everyone.

LB
