Suggestion -- Utah Lake
#1
You should make an archive for Utah Lake too. That where I fish more than anywhere else, but there are only a few areas that I know, and I've never really got into good crappie or largemouth bass fishing besides one or too. I've heard that over by Saratoga early in the year you can get good largemouth bass, and I know there's a lot more to learn about this great lake. What do the moderators and everyone else think?

[cool]As I previously mentioned, I used to serve as a moderator of sorts on "Brand X" forum. Since there was no provision for archiving, I started to put together my own archives, which I called "Best of the Best". In it I collected the posts related to specific waters and species, on a simple word document. Really a no-brainer, but it helped to provide info to many who came along after pertinent posts were lost forever.

I thought I might have lost that folder when I recently went through a computer change (CRASHO). As luck would have it, I had it stored on a CD so I slipped it back onto this computer. I am attaching a collection of posts on Utah Lake, Lindon and Lincoln Beach. These cover several months and should help serve as guidelines for what to use under prevailing conditions.

The only qualification I will make is that as low as the water was last year, it is lower this year, and the fishing will be affected proportionately. For example, when Sturgeon Kid posts about fishing LMB in shallow water, around the few available rocks...he would be tripping over those rocks on dry ground today. You have to search out your own holding areas, but the lures, colors and techniques should hold up.

If anyone is interested in some of the other archives, on species, waters or specific techniques, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I have saved.

[cool]You gotta give him credit. He keeps trying until he gets it right....or gives up.

If you don't get fricaseed, fry fry a hen.

I'd be willing to bet that area eats a lot of props these days.

Hey tube dude thanks for the valuable info. I have been reading through those posts for the last couple of days and am finding some great info. I used to fish a lot , but got very busy for a couple of years and forgot how much I love to do it until this year and am now oficialy once again a junkie, but am realizing fast that I don't know as much as I thought I did about the greatest sport on earth. I think this site is an awsome resourse and hope I will have something to contribute in the near future,

[cool]Hey, JB, hope you are able to get more fishing done in the future. I have had a couple of periods in my life where other "things" got in the way of my fishing. Once you get your priorities straight, and get back on the water, you wonder what the heck happened. Like a lot of things in life, there might be a lot of excuses for not going fishing...but never any good REASONS.

Glad you found BFT and glad you are picking up something useful. Don't ever think you have to contribute as much as you take. Just toss in your reports, and whatever else you can...and then feel free to ask any questions you have, whenever you have them.

With the mix of anglers we have as members, there will almost always be someone who can answer your questions...and there will almost always be questions from others that you are qualified to respond to. And, we do not keep score.

Now, get your gear in shape and go fishing more. And then let us know where you went, what the conditions were and how you did. Better yet, if you have a digital camera, post up some pics. And, if you need help with that, we can assist you there too.

thanks I plan to do as much fishing this year as I possibly can. If any of you anglers need some help in the electronics department let me know. I work for RC WILLEY in electronics and am an all around nerd when it comes to gadgets so if any of you guys need some cool stuff. Let me know and I will do my best to get ya the best deal I can. I really want a digital camera and will probably be looking hard for one so I can post some pics. I will probably have some good pics of that 10 lb cat I caught a couple of weeks ago here soon.
