Just Saying Hello To All
#1
Hi everyone,

I've been following all your posts on this forum for well over a year - and thought I'd get off my lazy hind-end and finally register on this site.

I've been fishing since I could walk back home (Wisconsin), and have been shore fishing Mead for a couple years now. I live about as close as you can get to the lake out in Boulder City, so I'm down there almost every day.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone - your posts have provided some good insights over the last year. THANKS to all for your info!

You are so lucky to live so close to the water. Man I would fish every day if I was that close. I would sleep by the water with chovies soakin.

Hi Denron,

I was fishing next to a guy a couple of days ago at Boulder Beach who was from Wisconson. I was throwing a cast net trying to get back a lure that caught up on a branch in the water and he showed me how to throw it without using my teeth. Which I'm very thankful for. That wouldn't be you would it?

Its funny you mentioned sleeping by the water lvrider. I was just joking yesterday about living on a houseboat. I could fish 24hrs a day and when I slept I could just tie a teather around my wrist and wake up whenever I caught a fish. You could even fish in the shower.

Lol!! No, that wasn't me....but I'm not surprised. Us Wisconsin guys will show/tell you all our secrets when it comes to fishing. That's just kind of how we do things. We can't help but be friendly.

A houseboat is brilliant. I have never thought of fishing while taking a shower. Oh the possibilities. I have seen some cheap old houseboats on CL with the times the way the are.

Yeah, it's nice to be able to hit the water in some shape or form everyday.

I have to say though, I can't bring myself to using "cut bait" or "live bait" yet. I used to tourney fish back in WI and we were obviously all artificial. I still fish the same way out here. Having a ton of fun figuring out the "lake mead bass". I'll find 'em....the big ones.

Yeah I used only artificials, but after a month of no bites I moved to bait and started getting bites again. I like flinging crankbaits and moving around too, but as brutal as sitting in one spot and soaking bait is for me it beats getting skunked.

I hear you. I'm getting to that point myself. I love power fishing, but it's only fun when getting bit.

I'm probably going to have to hit the cut bait. That's okay......different lake, different tactics.
