SETHAVELLIE, Harrison Bay, Crappie/Bluegill/Yellow Bass/Spot, 03-25-10, Clutch
#1
Decided to go fishing after a long night at work. Got to the spot at about 0800. I didn't have my tackle due to last minute decision to go fishing so I borrowed one of Clutch's rods. We were going to fish for crappie with some tuffies so we didnt bring any panfish gear. He had left a bass assasin on the real I was borrowing....he baited up and I started throwing the assasin. It didnt take long before I boated the first slab and it was on. The bad news is it was the only one we had. We took turns throwing it to spread the luck around, and we killed them. The rain was on us in no time and it was a little rough but we stuck with it. The water war very clear and ended up having a great day. We took home 15 big slabs for the day and caught numerous bluegill and yellow bass, and one rogue spot. Glad to say I got my second T.A.R.P crappie of the year. It was a great day on the water. Crappie were holding on rock points in about 4-8 feet of water. We ended up retiring the bait we used that day...after about the 4th fish, I had to take fishing line and tie the assasin back to the jig head...We have now mounted the bait for a keep sake. It was a silver flake w/white bottom bass assasin, not sure of the name because it was already on his pole! What a day, ended up staying up for about 36 hours straight because of the last minute trip but it was worth it.
