Well today I decided to wet my lines after the governor opened the season a week early. And after days of 60 degree weather I pick the day thats below freezing[crazy]. I could barely keep my reel from icing over. I fished about three different lakes and traveled about 80 miles but didn't get a nibble. When I got home I decided to fish the brook about 100 feet from my house and first cast guess what happened? I catch a brook trout! He was about 6 inches long but as beautiful as they get. After I released him I got several other bites but didn't catch anymore. I was just glad to say I got my first fish of the season.
Something else really cool is that the brook supports a sea run population of brook trout.
