Lake Mead 3/29/10
#1

Went out to Hemmingway in between the pier and the boat launch. Started at about 7 am and got my first fish about 15 min later. It was nonstop action for the next hour then nothing for the rest of the time I was there. Left around 1 pm. Ended up with total caught gave one away. These fish were not as skinny as many have been the last month. I was using anchovies and sardines. The bites were light just a little tap tap so I kept the rod in my hands and set the hooks quick.

I caught 6 the other night at Boulder Beach, and kept 3 about the same size as these. But, same thing.......none of them hit the bait hard, it was little taps all night long. One would surely miss them if they weren't holding onto their rod.

I was kind of surprised....I thought Stripers always slammed their prey.

The stripers were doing the same thing to me when I went out on the 29th as well, just a light tap. I thought it was odd as well since I was under the same impression, that when stripers decide to bite something, they slam it.
