Picked up Gene0122 at Wolftever around 8:30. He took a vacation day to come down from Tellico area for some Crappie fishing.

We fished together last fall one day and I got him onto dock shooting pretty good. Other than one broken rod we had a pretty good day fishing. We boated 55 crappie with 32 being very good keepers from 11-almost 14". All fish were caught on docks at the mouth of spawning bays.

Water temp was from 58-65 and little wind. We used mostly 1/32 jigs with PA's and BG Shad. My favorite color was bluegrass and Gene's is a secret, lol. See picture. I also used a crappie stinger occasionaly. Count was initially a 4-5, but when action slowed a 6-8 seemed to pickup the better fish. I still haven't found any whites.

Gene's freezer was empty of fish so he went home with our limits after I released 2 at the dock ( I miscounted somehow and had too many in the livewell) Saw Hal on the lake and he had his new trademark headscarf to cover his ears. Looks like Lawrence of Arabia (Just kidding, anything to keep from getting burned).

Had a very enjoyable day, great weather, and even caught some fish. Gene is a good guy to fish with and getting pretty good at shooting docks.

Regards, Labman
