If perch are the target you don't need any advice! a small piece of worm on a tiny hook about 24" under a bobber near any kind of structure and you'll get tons of action.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people fishing from shore also. I'll probably be one of them.

Hey ocean, I'll be spending alot of time on a float tube. But i'll join my wife and kids on the shore for a while as well. We'll try a number of different things but as hustler has said a worm under a bobber is very productive and is my favorite way to catch em. You may loose alot but its still non stop action and I'm sure you'll get your limit.

The last time (and first time) I was perch fishing at the nelle I found it frusterating at how to get those bugers. I found that if I just reel the line in quickly the chances of me loosing a fish were very small as compared to yanking it.

Hey OEJ
What you says is true. Went up last night and noticed that a lot of the smaller perch landed weren't actually hooked but had such a mouthful that they couldn't spit it out. I would just open up thier mouths twist and pull the jig right out of their throats. If you want to hook the small ones your gonna need small hooks and bait or like you said don't set the hook too hard just let them take it down then reel em in.
