drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 4/7/10, Biofisher
#1
Gary (Biofisher) is on spring break from his teaching job at the high school, and wanted me to take him out and catch a limit of crappie. No problem this morning. My only complaint was the high winds that whitecapped the lake. We had to get into some secluded areas to fish. Glad that we did this because I caught fish in an area that I have never fished before. It has a lot of potential.

We caught our fish over stumps, chunk rock, and brush. Shallow water less than 4 feet of water. Most were black males and they had their tuxs on too. Beautiful fish this time of year. Our biggest fish today was a spawned out female that was just about 1/16" short of being a TARP for me. Gary took home his limit and my limit too. We landed 34 crappie before the wind got so bad that we decided to quit. I can only remember one fish that was less than keeper size.

I had a great time fishing with you this morning, Gary. Be sure to buy a bottle of Krazy glue with the brush on applicator. Glue those plastics to the jighead and those bluegills that aggravated us to pieces this morning won't tear up so many plastic bodies.

Oh, I almost forgot, we landed 3 small bass and a couple of bluegills that were nearly big enough to be considered a fish instead of a minner. emoBigSmile I had a big largemouth bass on that came to the surface so that we could get a good look at him and then it dove down into a brush pile and broke me off. We estimated it to be 5 lbs or more. emoBang But when you are fishing brush with 4 lb test line, things like this happen from time to time. At least we got to look at the fish. emoBigSmile emoGeezer

We ran into some patchy dense fog in some places. emoPoke emoTongue emoSorry emoAngler
