Got on the water around noon today, the lot a CFP had a lot of trucks/trailers, does no one go to work anymore?, lol. Wanted to do a little prospecting, as I was pretty sure I knew where to find some fish from previous trip. Tried a couple of spawning bays, and caught a few, but nothing steady. Found some decent fish on a submerged tree in a spawning bay. Structure scan clearly showed the fish suspended around the tree, and when I got a jig down to them they hit it. Didnt have much luck on the spawning banks, I probably need to work on that some more.

I also tried a couple of docks and found fish on both. I fished mainly with BG Shad in a couple of colors on 1/32 jig. Fish on the docks were holding very shallow, about a 2-3 count produced best. Structure Scan came through again, when the back of the boat drifted under the dock a bit, it showed the fish suspended very shallow (2-4&#39
and when I kept the jig about 3' below the surface I got hit most every cast. I had been fishing a little deeper and only getting an occasional fish, as was running below most of them. Gotta love the new electronics. The fish today did not average quite as large as last trip, but last fish I caught was best of the day at about 13 1/2". Caught 31 keeper Crappie and several smalls. All fish returned to the lake.

I have been fishing alone quite a bit, so if anyone wants to tag along, let me know and we will try to get together for a trip.

Going kayaking with Judie (my wife) tomorrow and taking along a picnic lunch. Probably won't fish at all, but we will have binoculars and cameras (in dry bags) for the birds and wildlife. We are loving this warmer weather.

Regards, Labman
