Louie B, Carters Lake 5+lb Spotted Bass, Spots, 04.14.10, Dad
#1
Lake level is at 1077.6 (5ft+ full) and water temps are roughly 70. Fishing is really changing on Carters. The spots are starting to make their move w/ the new moon and water temps over 70 throughout most of the lake. There's a lot of different ways to catch fish in all three phases of the spawn right now. The jig head bite will be great in a few days after most of the spots spawn and the banks are full w/ all the buck's. There is a good crankbait bite early and there's even still a jerkbait bite on up in the day. Topwater is heating up and will also take a big step over the next few days as well. I even saw the first sign of a shad spawn going on in one particular creek. Shad were jumping up the banks in this creek, not as much activity around as you'd expect from the spots but there were a few takers in this area.

The pics are from Dad and I today. We caught a lot, missed a lot, throw in a real big spot or two and that makes for a great day on the water. Biggest spot today weighed 5.77 on the Cul-M-Rite scale, I caught it on the jerkbait. Caught approx 25.

Flukes, Scroungers, Jig Head Worm/Grub, Small Topwaters, and Spinnerbaits all caught fish today.

Also if anyone is interested find out how to help me raise money for 8year old Cancer patient Madison Hight at http://www.chattanoogafishingforum.com/f...mp;start=1

LB
