Alvin and I decided to complete our day of hookie by hitting Raccoon Mtn this evening to redeem ourselves from the poor morning fishing. The fish were there and active.
We put in around 5 and headed up to the gorge. Started throwing black/blue pig n jigs and started catching spots right off the bat. We ended up boated 25 spots and 1 LM and hooked and lost at the boat another 5-6 with one being a really nice 3-3.5 lb LM. We also caught some on the standard DJW spinnerbait. The bite almost died with the sun went over the mtn which was really strange. We also boated 2 channels (one was almost 10 lbs), 1 green sunfish, and 4 google eyes. All fish were within 5 feet of the bank. I brought home 10 spots for my great aunt, she loves them. Water temp was 66 degrees.
The gorge has to the one of the pretties places on earth and an awsome place to fish. Not many boats to contend with either and the fishing is great.
Hitting the Chick tomorrow with my mom and Drumking, should be fun.
