We had our first annual University of Tennessee Employee Bass Tournament today out of the canal ramp and had a decent showing of boats, i think around 20. Anyhow, finally got a win for the year with a 5 fish limit of 14.8 lbs and also had big fish of 4.7 lbs so it turned out to be a pretty good day. Had a solid game plan set up and we stuck to it the entire day and it really payed off. Ran up into Tellico and fished a creek with shakey heads and topwater and had the big fish and two of our other keepers there. Hit a rip rap point also in tellico and was able to get a limit and cull there. We then ran back to Loudon to the pattern we were on fishing half way back in the creek coves on rip rap banks with shakey heads. The larger males had finally pushed the smaller buck bass out of the way and we were able to catch sold 2 lbers the rest of the day. Finished the day with a keeper count in the 20's and total fish over 50. It was an awesome day and it was a first for me to have the winning bag and have big fish. Lots of the big name big boys out there in their pretty wrapped boats practicing for this week. Most of them are cool but some of them you would have thought expected a red carpet to roll them down the ramp this morning. Still looking like there could be some big weights for those guys.
