2 days - duplicate spots of 4/22 on 4/23.
Took my non-fisherman friend John with me on the 22nd. He's been fishing with me off and on for the last four years (has no equipment, I let him use my stuff) and this was his best day ever. Fishing the lower third, sloughs and main channel gravel banks, all plastic. We had close to 50 bass, but john had the top 3, a 7 pounder, a 4.5 pounder and one that went just under 4, measured on my spring scale that I think weighs just a little light. Red shad YUM (7-1/2&quot
worms were the prevalent bite. The main channel bass were hanging back off the bank at the first break line where it dropped from aboiut 5 to 10 to 12 feet. Slow presentation. Numerous fish in the 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 pound class. This was really one of the better trips in my memory, except that I can't seem to buy a fish over 4 pounds, but seem to be a great guide for everyone fishing with me! I was really proud for John - to him the 7 pounder was the fish of a lifetime, and he was texting pictures of it to everyone he knew while we were out there! Top five would have been around 25 pounds.

Next day, took "The Shocker" (Don) and we repeated every spot from the day before but the red shad bite disappeared (aren't bass weird?). I guess we caught all the "red shad fish" the day before.!! Lots more sunlight and so greater light penetration so maybe that had something to do with it - Don fishes watermelon a lot and he started catching fish on it, and right off the bat had 5 nice fish in the vicinity of where we caught the 7 pounder the day before, including one that went 5-1/2. We had to fish even slower than the day before. I spent the day trying to catch up after I went to watermelon (although I used watermelon that had red flecks in it). We used lizards. Again, I couldn't buy a bigger fish, although I caught a couple that went 3 pounds. We didn't catch as many as John and I did the day before, but a good day with 32 bass caught. Top five this day would have been around 15 pounds.

Hope this helps some folks catch some fish!

I have pics but can't seem to figure out how to post them - thought I could just copy/paste but that's not working for me!
