Sand Hollow/Quail Lake, Utah
#1
I spent four days in So. Utah fishing for bass on beds and I can honestly say that I am fished out. Sand Hollow got up to 58* and small males were on beds in the shallows anywhere there was brush. Quail got up to 62* and the males on beds were from 2-4 lbs. and aggressive. I caught more fish at SH than Quail but Quail averaged around 3.5 lbs where Sand Hollow there were lots of 12-14 inchers. My big fish came from Sand Hollow, females still in deeper water waiting to spawn 5lb. 5oz and 5lb 8oz. caught on my Transition Tackle Hula Grubs (green pumpkin/copper flake) worked real slow in 15-25' on 1/2 oz. jig heads.
The bass in Quail were spawning and the water was crystal clear, you could see the bottom in 20' of water. We watched several bass that were "dancing" but could not get them to bite, they were busy getting their freak on, lol.

Looks like you had a great couple of days! I know how you feel when you say you are fished out lol. I get like that when i go to Lake Erie sometimes. The fishing is just so good that you like if i throw another cast my arms are gonna fall off lol.

Very nice indeed! Sounds like you had a great time. I have had that feeling of being fished out before. Kinda nice when you are able to get that.[cool] After a few days rest you will be ready to go out again.

I am 16 and now that I have my driver's license I can go fishing all the time, but i'm going fishing at Sand Hollow for my first time this week! I am used to fishing smaller lakes where bass are usually right up against the bank eating frogs and chasing bluegill around into peoples docks and back yards. I dont have a boat for this trip and I was wondering if you had any advice? And a website I read said that gates to the resrvoir don't open until six so can I get fishing on the lake anytime before that? Thank you for your time!
