FRANKFORT, Ky. - Bluegill, redear sunfish and memories as welcome as the flowers of May. It's a colorful "Kentucky Afield" this week, May 8 and 9.
The crew heads to Lake Barkley, where bluegill and redear sunfish await. For host Tim Farmer, the fishing trip suddenly turns into the trip of a lifetime. Good thing he had friend and local expert Jim Doom along to enjoy the surprise.
Elsewhere, we tag along with wildlife biologist John Brunjes to Madison County as he tags woodcock. This seldom-seen migratory bird is being studied to determine if the species claims Kentuckyas a breeding ground.
Lastly, in honor of Mothers Day, Sherry Farmer enjoys a spring day with her little boy as they fish a farm pond in Mason County. Meet the lady who introduced the great outdoors to the host of our show.
