Best Places to Fish in Idaho
#1
Good Morning All,

I will be working all over Idaho (BLM Lands) for about 4 weeks in June and July.

Where is the best fishing located? Trout, Salmon, fly-fishing, anything! I want to try it all!

I would also like to try a guide for a day or two, just to get the swing of things. I am just a south Texas bass fisherman, so I have a lot to learn about your region.

Help a good ol' Texan out!

Thanks

I know everything is bigger in Texas, but Idaho is huge.[Wink] Be specific about which areas you will be in and I am sure we can give you some help.

Have you ever flyfished before? Are you going for size, quantity, or inbetween?

Hope we can help you have a great time.

Well, the bigwigs still have yet to inform me on exactly where in Idaho I will be.

Yes, I have flyfished a few times, I have a fly rod and reel that I will bring and I will also bring a spinning rig.

I guess I am going for size and quantity? I really want to catch some salmon, but not sure if it is even the right season. Catching rainbows and browns would be great too. Not picky!

I just want to catch fish after I get off work and on the weekends.

Your timing will be really good for salmon fishing on the South Fork of the Salmon, and probably still around Riggins. The rivers will be dropping off of srping runoff and the trout fishing should be great too. Once you know where you will be working, you will know your options. It is a heck of a drive from Pocatello to the South Fork of the Salmon, but if you are working out of Riggins, you are smack dab in the middle fo good fishing.

Keep us posted...
