so for some strange reason i was up at 7am on my day off and coulnt fall asleep so i figured it was a sign i should fish in the early morning (atleast early for me!!) so i got out to the small pond i fish at at about 8am or so.
about an hour into it i caught this beauty.
the photo was takin from my piece of a phone and it doesnt do it nearly the justice. i estimate it at around 5lbs or so. pretty monsterous for the small pond i was at. very very exciting.

i was extremely surprised when i pulled that big one out yesterday. i caught it on a rapala orignal no. 7 gold. it seems like the rapala originals are the only thing that catch fish in the pond i regularly fish at. i caught that big one, lost one almost as big at the shore and then had another monster following it around but kept changin his mind.
does anybody know how i could really find out how much it weighed from that picture or atleast someone with more knowledge estimate it for me? im guessin around atleast 5lbs..?
i know its not a very good angle and such, i was trying to get the tackle box in view for size comparison. my hand and wrist was pretty tired from holdin that bad boy up for the 2min or so he was outta the water.

kinda hard to say from the picture, looks to be about 5lbs. The one i caught on my avatar is about 7lbs give or take, i could easily put my fist his him mouth with room to spare and im 6'1 200lbs with decent sized hands. But i would say about 5 lbs give or take

thats what i thought as well. mine was a bit smaller than the one in your picture. yours is longer. we;re about the same size and my fist would probably just squeeze into its mouth.

Its really hard to tell with the way the picture was taken but if i had to guess id say about 3lbs. IDK. How long was it?

im not 100% sure. he was a few inches longer than my tackle box. i have the cheap plano 2 tray tackle box if that helps. you cant really tell by the picture but it had a massive belly on it which is why i think it was atleast 5lbs.
