drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 5/26/10, Labman

I picked up Norman (Labman) at the Chester Frost Park just after 9:00 this AM. We had a little over 3 hours of fishing time. We were out over 4 hours, but counting travel time, stopping to talk to EricM and his brother for a spell, we actually had our lures in the water a little over 3 hours. Also got 3 phone calls while on the water and every time that the phone rang, I was reeling in a fish. Man just can't fish with the cell phones ringing all the time. emoBigSmile

We had a great time of fishing. 38 crappie in the boat and 3 spots in the limited amount of time that we had. We saw the storm clouds building and I told Norman that I was taking him home. DK is a big chicken when it comes to lightning on the water. We fished a lot of new docks and stuff for each of us and most of them were productive. We caught several good quality fish and a few crappie wannabes. emoUpSmile

The fish are in their summer time patterns now and unless a front comes through or something different, they won't change much from now until fall. Fish were deep and bites were very subtle. I was fooled more than once by some really sneaky crappie. I think that Captain Hazmat and I may just be able to catch our limit this coming Saturday. Norman landed the lunker today, 13.75 inches long and very healthy. We had several over 13". Water was clear in a lot of places and a little stain in other places that we tried. I only stopped at one place that I fished yesterday and that for only 10 minutes to take a pulse. I used 1/32 oz jigs totally today and two different colors. A new color that I have was the hottie today. Norman and I fished with bg 2" shads in various colors. I know that Norman used bluegrass and maybe another color or two. He will tell you what he fished with. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
