My brother, Mark, came down from Wisconsin (Milwaukee) for a week and wanted to go fishing with me today. I was thrilled to have him come along! We were on the water and fishng at about 7:45 with a couple dozen shiners and some frozen skipjack for bait. Got out to one of the "spots" and found a fishing friend already there. He had tried castnetting shad this morning with no luck whatsoever. We fished there with him and found a few largemouth and one spotted bass. Mark has never seen a spotted bass so it was interesting to show him the differences. The fishing was slow (I suspect because of the lack of shad - for forage and for bait) and after trying another place with no luck we decided to change to catfishing. Also a slow, slow day for them. Mark caught his first blue cat this morning, a nice 8 pounder, and I managed to stick a tail-deformed fish of 16 pounds. We got a few other fish that looked just like blue cats - only smaller.

It was a beautiful day. Mark enjoyed it greatly. We were visited by a couple of CFF members. DRC stopped by for a short chat, and ol' drumking and labman pulled up for a while. I finally took a picture of dk to show just how close to you he likes to fish (or tell his lies emoBig
).

The first pic is brother Mark in the front of my boat. In the shot of the two of us, I'm the good-looking and smart one. In the shot of dk, well, you know - it's dk!!! And the last pic is of two rather misshapen adults of different species:

Fun day!!!
