This is for this morning and yesterday. Yesterday started out great on topwater up until the epic monsoon blew over the mountain and across the lake. The walk-style topwaters are still producing the best keepers for me, although the trap would have been the money maker if only I could get them in the boat. I tried different colors, new hooks, bigger hooks...they would absolutely crush it, but they'd come unbuttoned for whatever reason. The spinnerbait is still getting vicous strikes, but the size is dwindling more and more everyday. In the afternoon I finally got fed up losing fish along with Taylor whoopin' up on me so I switched gears and picked the topwater back up and did fine up until the time I left for work. Ended up with 20-25 fish for the day, around 8 or 9 keepers, best five was somewhere between 16-17#.

Today I got out for a few hours mid-morning and had a bit more success on landing fish. I started out flipping laydowns and got bored with catching 13" dinkers, so I picked up the blade and did work on 6 quality keepers, including a 4.75. The rest were solid and full of shad, most being 2.75 - 3.5lbs. I'm still tossing shad pattern baits with a little bit of chartreuse for most of my fish. I'm heading to Cleveland tomorrow to pick up another lower unit (not holding my breath, though...), so maybe I'll get to chase the deep fish starting this weekend or early next week.

Jake
