Got out of bed at 0350 and sure enough the sun was on the horizon..already, gotta love the Northwest, or maybe not. Linked up with good friend Mark and of we go. Headed south to the Columbia River Gorge for some shad fishing. Reports from departmnet of wildlife said about 24k were headed for spawning grounds. We launched the boat about 0845 right next to a 57,000 year old volcano named Beacon Rock. I have to say launching a boat in a swift river is a task ...but NOTHING compared to loading that same boat in that same swift water. Fished from about 0900 til about 1700 with absolutely nothing to show for our efforts. I ain't sure who the Department of Wildlife has counting all those shad but obviously they do differently than we do in the South.

I did get a few pics of the river and the 57,000 year old volcano...and attempted to take a pic of a few Bald Eagles as they blessed us with their majestic fly by. All in all a very beatiful place to see, and to have Eagles soaring overhead all one can say I am proud to call this country home.

Trying to post pics anysuggestions???? emoBang
